We NEED your cooperation.
- There is no on-site parking for Terry Fox Park.
- Two years ago, many Robbie attendees disregarded parking regulation in the Terry Fox Park / Dr. N. Bethune Collegiate area in order to park as close as possible to their fields.
- In some cases their disregard for No Parking signs put pedestrians and other drivers at risk.
As a result we have been compelled as a condition of receiving our Parks permit to do the following:
- Hire a paid duty officer to patrol and ticket. This officer will be able to summon tows if necessary.
- Place traffic control barrels on roads in the area that are already posted as No Parking.
- Pay for a Parks foreperson to be on site.
The Robbie donates proceeds to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, so this added expense comes directly out of monies that would otherwise be used for research, treatment and education.
Should parking problems occur this year, our ability to renew our permits for these four fields next year could be in jeopardy.
Off-street parking is available within a few minutes walk via paved pathways from the fields:
- Dr. Norman Bethune Collegiate 200 Fundy Bay Blvd.
- Davide Lewis Public School, 130 Fundy Bay Blvd.
- St. Maximilian Kolbe Separate School, 100 Fundy Bay Blvd.
- Terry Fox Public School, 185 Wintermute Blvd.
There is also street parking to the east and north of Terry Fox Park / Dr. N. Bethune CI, also connected into the fields from paved pathways from five residential streets.
Please, be respectful and considerate of others when parking on residential streets; obey all parking regulations and do not block residents’ driveways or park too close to intersections – this will result in tickets and tows.
PARKING ON WEST SIDE OF BAMBURGH CIRCLE IS ILLEGAL
Please do not park on the west side of Bamburgh Circle across from the fields. The area will be clearly marked as No Parking, and the paid duty police officer will not allow parking on that side of the road.
DO NOT STOP IN LIVE TRAFFIC LANE ON BAMBURGH CIRCLE TO DROP OFF PLAYERS OR EQUIPMENT
Stopping in the live traffic lane on Bamburgh Circle for drop offs will not be permitted for obvious safety reasons. This will be police enforced!
Please make drop offs at the north end of the Dr. Norman Bethune Collegiate (200 Fundy Bay Blvd.) parking lot or at the Terry Fox Public School (185 Wintermute Blvd.) parking lot.
NO PARKING ON DOUBLE YELLOW LINES IN THE BETHUNE COLLEGIATE PARKING LOT
Please remember that parking in areas with double yellow lines in the Bethune Collegiate parking lot is not allowed. The school board will be calling for tickets and tows for vehicles parked in those areas.
Thank you for your cooperation.
